To empower Black creatives with the skills, support and resources necessary to succeed within the film and entertainment industry.
OBAC addresses systemic inequalities through mentorship, networking, industry training and by providing safe space for experimentation.
OYA Black Arts Coalition (OBAC) is a Canadian charity dedicated to strengthening opportunities for Black artists, creators, and entrepreneurs in film, media, and the broader entertainment industry. The organization works to reduce systemic barriers by offering skills development, mentorship, industry connections, and training that help Black talent build and grow their careers. Through programs like Emerging Filmmakers, Career Leap, Career Bridge, and others, OBAC supports creative growth, professional development, and a more inclusive arts ecosystem.
