BMO Ride for Cancer 2026 returns on Saturday, October 3, 2026, uniting cyclists from across Atlantic Canada with one shared purpose: transforming local cancer care at the QEII Health Sciences Centre in Halifax. As Atlantic Canada’s largest cycling fundraising event, the Ride brings together veteran cyclists, recreational riders, and first-time participants, each choosing a distance that reflects their personal challenge and commitment.
Participants can select from five route options ranging from 25 km to 160 km, travelling along the scenic Rum Runners Trail or Highway 3 on Nova Scotia’s picturesque South Shore. Trail options include 25 km, 50 km, and 100 km distances, while road cyclists can take on 100 km, 130 km, or the 160 km route through coastal communities such as East River and Chester. Each route offers a meaningful experience, whether riders are seeking a family-friendly trail ride or an endurance road challenge.
Since 2015, the BMO Ride for Cancer community has raised more than $15 million net to help build a centre of excellence in cancer care at the QEII Health Sciences Centre. Funds raised support leading-edge cancer-fighting technology, advanced equipment, and enhanced patient care spaces that directly impact the treatment journey of nearly every cancer patient at the QEII.
Proudly hosted by the QEII Foundation, the BMO Ride for Cancer ensures that funds raised locally stay local, advancing care for patients and families who rely on Atlantic Canada’s largest and most specialized cancer treatment hospital.
