The Walk for Wildlife is the Prairies Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre's (PWRC) largest annual fundraiser, bringing together animal lovers, families, runners, walkers, and wildlife advocates in support of injured and orphaned wildlife across Manitoba.
PWRC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing injured, sick, and orphaned wild animals back into their natural habitats. Funds raised help cover essential expenses such as medications, veterinary care, food, supplies, and enclosure maintenance for wildlife patients.
Participants can choose between a 5-kilometre walk, a 5-kilometre run, or a 10-kilometre run, either individually or as part of a team. Supporters are encouraged to collect pledges and donations from family and friends to further support Manitoba's wildlife rehabilitation efforts.
Following the event, participants can enjoy refreshments, a pancake breakfast, and an opportunity to meet PWRC's Wildlife Ambassadors. Fundraisers who collect more than $50, $100, or $400 in donations will also be eligible for prizes.
Whether you're an experienced runner, casual walker, or wildlife enthusiast, the Walk for Wildlife offers a fun and meaningful way to support the care and recovery of Manitoba's wildlife.
