Open Cockpit Day returns to the Alberta Aviation Museum, inviting visitors to step inside aviation history and experience some of Canada’s most remarkable aircraft up close.
After celebrating its 10-year milestone, featured in CharityAxess’ article “Open Cockpit Day is Turning 10 — Here's Why You Shouldn't Miss It,” this beloved Edmonton event continues to bring families, aviation enthusiasts, and the community together through hands-on learning and exploration.
Guests can discover more than 20 historical aircraft, with over a dozen cockpits available to explore. From sleek jets to rugged bushplanes, visitors can sit inside these incredible aircraft and imagine the journeys, pilots, and stories that shaped aviation history.
The experience also includes access to the museum’s simulator lab, interactive family activities, food vendors, and an event hall featuring organizations from the local community.
Operated by the Alberta Aviation Museum Association, the museum works to preserve aviation history, educate visitors, and celebrate the people and innovations that helped shape flight in Canada.
