British Columbia SPCA is a long-standing animal welfare charity dedicated to protecting vulnerable animals and mobilizing communities throughout British Columbia. Headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, the organization has operated since 1896 and is the only animal welfare group in the province with legal authority to enforce animal cruelty laws. Today it stands as the largest animal welfare organization of its kind in North America, operating dozens of animal centres, veterinary hospitals, and a wildlife rehabilitation centre, and assisting well over 100,000 animals each year across the province.
