Every month of the year, there are wonderful events that bring us together and
meaningful awareness days that draw our attention to various movements. Take a closer look at what’s coming up in your area.
Dec. 1
World AIDS Day

Raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection and mourning those who have died. Globally, an estimated 38 million people are living with HIV, and are more likely to experience poverty, hardship and inequalities.

National Grief Awareness Week

Raising awareness about support for bereaved people. This week highlights the impact of unsupported grief on individuals and wider communities. Bereavement is a time of crisis that can lead to poor mental health - resulting in physical health conditions.

Giving Tuesday

The Tuesday after Thanksgiving is celebrated around the world as an antidote to what is seen as the excesses of the Black Friday sales. As a company you could do a food/clothing drive and donate to a local food bank or shelter

Dec. 3-24
Christian: Advent Begins

The Christian season of preparation for the Nativity of Christ at Christmas. It’s the beginning of the liturgical year in Western Christianity. Each Sunday has a different spiritual theme and often involves the ceremonial lighting of an Advent candle.

International Volunteering Day

A time to recognise and promote the work of the 862.4 million volunteers across the globe. 6.5% of working-age people worldwide engage in formal volunteering via an organisation or association - helping them build valuable skills and a sense of belonging.

Budhist: Bodhi Day (Buddha’s Enlightenment)

A Buddhist holiday that marks the day that Gautama Buddha attained enlightenment. Buddhists commemorate the day by meditating, studying the Dharma (teaching), chanting sutras (Buddhist texts) and performing kind acts towards others.

Christmas Jumper Day

Wear your favourite Christmas Jumper and raise money for kids who need it most. Organised by Save the Children, Christmas Jumper Day is a fun way to celebrate the holiday spirit. Enjoy this snap of a few of our snazzy Xmas jumpers!

Jewish: Hanukkah

Hanukkah (the Festival of Lights) is a Jewish celebration of the recapture of the holy Temple of Jerusalem. Candles are lit on each day of the festival to celebrate the miracle of one day's oil burning for eight whole days – the eight days of Hanukkah.

Christian: Christmas

"IT'S CHRISTMAS!" An annual festival marking the birth of Jesus - Christmas is celebrated by billions around the world. It's evolved into a worldwide religious and secular celebration - involving presents, Christmas trees, feasting… and even Santa Claus!

New Year’s Eve

The last day of the Gregorian Calendar is celebrated around the world with parties, fireworks, and frivolities. Organisations can start to think about their intentions for the year ahead, personal growth and targets!
