At Nassau Foundation, our mission is to combat hunger and homelessness in Nassau, Bahamas by providing nutritious meals, advocating for long-term solutions, and empowering individuals with resources to regain stability. Through sustainable food programs, community partnerships, and advocacy, we work to ensure that no one in Nassau goes hungry.
We envision a world where everyone has access to nutritious food, safe shelter, and the support needed to rebuild their lives. By bridging the gap between food surplus in Canada and food insecurity in the Bahamas, we strive to create lasting impact, restore dignity, and inspire systemic change.
Founded as a Canadian-based international charity, Nassau Foundation is dedicated to addressing food insecurity and homelessness in Nassau, Bahamas. By leveraging food rescue efforts in Canada, we supply thousands of meals annually to the most vulnerable communities in Nassau. In addition to food relief, our organization provides employment support, housing assistance, and advocacy initiatives to create long-term pathways out of poverty.
With the support of donors, volunteers, and corporate partners, Nassau Foundation is more than a meal provider—we are a movement for change.
Meet Jared, a 47-year-old man who lived on the streets of Nassau for over a decade. Struggling with homelessness after losing his job in the tourism sector, Jared faced daily uncertainty about where his next meal would come from.
When Nassau Foundation expanded its meal delivery program to his area, Jared received nutritious, consistent meals for the first time in years. With food no longer a constant worry, he was able to focus on rebuilding his life. Encouraged by our partners, he joined a local skills training program and secured part-time employment at a community kitchen. Today, Jared not only has stable housing but also volunteers with our foundation to help distribute meals—giving back to the very program that once helped him survive.
Jared’s journey is a testament to the power of a simple meal. When people are nourished, they can dream again.
