We meet people where they are on their journey with kindness; empowering each person with culturally safe supports. NiGiNan’s services are based on the Four Natural Laws of kindness, honesty, sharing, and strength which form the foundation of the care and supports we provide: We commit to transparency and accountability to the individuals we support, our community, partners, and funders.
Through a decolonization approach, our vision is to cultivate communities where individuals and families feel respected, embraced, culturally safe, and have access to Indigenous-led resources. We honor each person’s history, culture, and connections, fostering an environment that reflects an Indigenous worldview.
NiGiNan Housing Ventures is an Indigenous-led charity that provides compassionate, culturally safe housing and support services for individuals facing some of the greatest barriers to stable housing. Through a decolonized, person-centered approach, the organization helps residents build wellness, independence, and community connections.
NiGiNan Housing Ventures currently runs four supportive housing developments in Edmonton: Ambrose Place, Omamoo Wango Gamik, Pimatisiwin, and McArthur Place. Together, these developments provide permanent, affordable housing and access to culturally grounded supports that promote dignity, stability, and long-term well-being.
Each of NiGiNan’s supportive housing sites is designed to promote safety, accessibility, and well-being. Features may include large hallways, accessible suites, low-barrier rooms, and dedicated ceremonial spaces that support cultural connection and healing. Residents also benefit from amenities such as commercial kitchens, nutritionist-informed meal programs, craft rooms, TV rooms, and triage spaces.
To enhance safety and comfort, the facilities include secured entrances, video surveillance throughout common areas, and open sight lines that support a welcoming and secure living environment.
