To improve the quality of life of all individuals with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus and their families through awareness, education, advocacy and research, and to reduce the incidence of neural tube defects.
The Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Association of Canada strives to be the leading national voluntary health organization, setting the standard for education, public awareness and research of spina bifida and hydrocephalus. We aspire to reduce the incidence of spina bifida and hydrocephalus and to promote independence of people living with spina bifida and hydrocephalus.
The Spina Bifida & Hydrocephalus Association of Canada (SBHAC) is a national organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families impacted by spina bifida and hydrocephalus. Since 1981, SBHAC has worked to advance awareness, education, research, support, and advocacy across Canada.
The organization brings together a network of provincial associations and community partners to provide resources, promote understanding, and support initiatives that improve quality of life. Through research funding, education, and community engagement, SBHAC continues working toward better outcomes and increased awareness for Canadians living with spina bifida and hydrocephalus.
