The Black Coalition for AIDS Prevention (BlackCAP) is Canada’s largest Black-specific AIDS service organization, dedicated to supporting Toronto’s African, Caribbean, and Black communities since 1989. Guided by the motto "Because All Black People’s Lives Are Important," the agency works to reduce HIV and STI transmission while improving the quality of life for those infected or affected by the virus. Its approach is rooted in harm reduction, anti-oppression, and the meaningful engagement of people living with HIV/AIDS.
By offering culturally relevant outreach, settlement services, and peer support, the organization addresses systemic barriers like racism and stigma. Ultimately, BlackCAP fosters a safe, inclusive environment that champions human rights and self-determination for all members of the diverse Black diaspora.
